Session One - The Great Apple Pie Quest

[2023/03/05 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: So, what's your plan you've been planning?
[2023/03/05 15:47] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: oooh
[2023/03/05 15:47] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Plans! Right! Those. The plans we made. The brilliant, cunning plans we put together since last session.
[2023/03/05 15:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: We've had a night to rest and recover spell points, yes?
[2023/03/05 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: that plan, yes, and yes, since you were on the verge of a TPK :P
[2023/03/05 15:50] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben has been pondering on this overnight, thinking. "I think we lure them out into a dangerous area in range of the apple barrage, and then make it hard for them to walk and run." (To confirm, the main doors of the building had hard stony stairs in front of them, and or some other sort of porch? )
[2023/03/05 15:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: A sort of low stairs, three steps high, sort of open but with a cover out.
[2023/03/05 15:51] Alicia Frakture: Look those little bastard would not expect just kicking the door down. Either fight or lead them out.
[2023/03/05 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: imagine a raised platform, twice the width of the doors, a similar size roof overhead... say 10' x 3' approx, with three steps. No columns or walls or railings
[2023/03/05 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: the steps making semicircular designs, so you can approach from any angle
[2023/03/05 15:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Yes. Lead them out, oil the steps, and set up a fake spike pit to corrall them into the right direction."
[2023/03/05 15:55] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods and looks at the Cleric."What about you?"
[2023/03/05 15:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Sounds like a plan, let's do that."
[2023/03/05 15:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Wish I had some caltrops to mix in, but so it goes. Be ready for one of them to do something crazy, we'll have to adapt to whatever they do."
[2023/03/05 15:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Also, what looks like the good retreat path if this goes poorly?
[2023/03/05 15:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Deeper into the orchard I think?"
[2023/03/05 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: you could try falling back to the orchard, it's clear the three creatures there have discouraged the monsters from going there
[2023/03/05 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: then again, if you rile them up...:)
[2023/03/05 15:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She's not running just yet, but wants to have the plan already agreed on with Leesha!
[2023/03/05 16:00] Alicia Frakture: All right I am gonna bust the door down, roar loudly, and fight for a moment before running, really sell it. Just say the word.
[2023/03/05 16:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: so, we going with that?
[2023/03/05 16:03] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben gets into position, makes sure when she pours the tripping oil that Leesha sees where it is, and then incants the gestures and signs the words for applying her silent illusion to fake a pit trap that blocks running away from the orchard, and if possible hiding the oil as well.
[2023/03/05 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: oh-kay.. how's Debben opening the doors?
[2023/03/05 16:04] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: That's Leesha's job were it not?
[2023/03/05 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: damnit. Leesha, yes
[2023/03/05 16:05] Alicia Frakture: Debben isn't Leesha is gonna try to kick it open. Before she tries she looks at the tree."Sorry about the noise. If all goes well it will be much quieter very soon."

[2023/03/05 16:06] Alicia Frakture: Well I definitely did that
[2023/03/05 16:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: uh oh.
[2023/03/05 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: more sorta... definitely didn't...
[2023/03/05 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: 1 is a critical failure. You fling yourself at the door, and literally bounce off of it - it'll take you a round to pick yourself up
[2023/03/05 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: The woman shakes her head and has a go. THUMP! and after ramming her shoulder into the door... she now has a sore shoulder.
[2023/03/05 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dice gods clearly hate you :)
[2023/03/05 16:09] Alicia Frakture: /me growls as she slowly gets to her feet.
[2023/03/05 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Might need to rethink the plan a bit...
[2023/03/05 16:11] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks around."Gonna try that again.. admittedly that was embarrassing."
[2023/03/05 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: go ahead, it's too funny to not repeat :)
[2023/03/05 16:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Good luck, Leesha," Debben says, worried about this whole venture already.
[2023/03/05 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: You take a run at the door and slam your shoulder in to it. THUMP! Now you've got a sore shoulder too.
[2023/03/05 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: Your companion tries again too (other shoulder). THUMP and the door gives way, causing her to stumble into the room beyond.
[2023/03/05 16:13] Alicia Frakture: Leesha grimaces. For a run down place these are solid doors. She can not help but hope the little bastards hear her as she tries again
[2023/03/05 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: The shop is a small front area of the bakery where the famous pies could be sold directly to hungry customers. A counter at the back of the room stands surrounded by shelves on every wall. It appears that while the shelves once held lovely packages of pies, they have long since been ransacked; paper boxes and bits of ribbon and twine litter the floor. Two small tables have been overturned in the center of the room. There is a door on either side of the room, as well as the large double doors that lead outside.

[2023/03/05 16:15] Alicia Frakture: Leesha walks in looking around Heading over to one of the doors... the one on the right.
[2023/03/05 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: Looks like an office; there's broken chairs and a wrecked table. A couple of bookshelves and tattered paper. It doesn't appear -quite- so ravaged as the main entrance room
[2023/03/05 16:17] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben crouches behind some of the steps, spear in hand, ready to defend, though leans when she fails to hear any screaming.
[2023/03/05 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: Your companion looks around, tries a drawer in the table. She finds a scroll - or the torn remains of a scroll. "Ah, the tract... or half of it, anyway... I think."
[2023/03/05 16:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: From the other doorway comes three of the monsters. "'Ere! 'Oo are you?" one of them calls out
[2023/03/05 16:19] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is gonna try the other door."Somehow I doubt we're gonna find any pies."
[2023/03/05 16:20] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben listens but stays ready. If Leesha seems to need help she'll approach, but the whole plan was toe lure!

[2023/03/05 16:26] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at them and shows her wrench. "We're here to fix the place up. guess where we start."
[2023/03/05 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: The look at Leesha and then at each other. "They come fix oven?" "Don't think we sent for oven fixer." "They here now, dumbass! You forget!"
[2023/03/05 16:29] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head a moment."Yeah here to fix the oven you got any others here I don't wanna be surprised and buurn the place down by accident
[2023/03/05 16:29] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben mouths '*Oven fixer* to herself in perflexity.
[2023/03/05 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: They nod. "Many ovens!" "All broken." "Much fixing needed!"
[2023/03/05 16:31] Alicia Frakture: No I mean any more of you guys. If they are running around and interrupt my work it could get bad."
[2023/03/05 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: They nod and there's a chorus of "Many, many!"
[2023/03/05 16:34] Alicia Frakture: Leesha sighs for a second."Okay I need to know how many so i can be prepared. So can everyone come into the room?" While looking back at Debben and shrugging
[2023/03/05 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: The look puzzled. "Many!" they repeat. One says, "You want us all here?" and one of the others shakes its' head. "Not so sure wise to annoy Grishnak." The third comments: "Grishnak always annoyed anyway."
[2023/03/05 16:37] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben shrugs back to Leesha. She's not sure if the goblins are serious about the oven thing or chasing a flight of fancy. This 'Grishnak' though, does she have any recall of such a name other than the way it's unpleasent in her mouth?
[2023/03/05 16:38] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shrugs."There is going to be a lot of banging noise so Grishnak gonna be real annoyed especially if they don't know."
[2023/03/05 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's a fairly common name, rumored to mean "strong in battle"
[2023/03/05 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: They look worried. "Make noise, annoy Grishnak, he get very annoyed!" "Me no want to tell Grishnak bad news." "Perhaps me go, leave you fix ovens."
[2023/03/05 16:40] Alicia Frakture: Leesha thinks for a moment."Let me guess you're a mighty army right?"
[2023/03/05 16:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: It'd be terrible if -that- was the cliffhanger for tonight... so... it is :P
